Click 'N Shot, Vivitar® Vivicam 3181, Berlin (de), 04/01/07

Here's my new camera, a Vivicam 3181! It's a real downgrade in terms of photo quality, comfort and features (forgot to mention that it drains out the batteries very fast).
The 3181 is (afaik) the cheapest camera available on the German market today and costs lousy 49€. Yes, you'll really get what you pay for: All kinds of digital artifacts, some nice (unwanted) light effects, a lot of noise and a low resolution. Here the juicy facts:
  • Zoom: 4X Digital
  • Resolution: 3.1 Mega Pixels (2048 x 1536)
  • Display: 1.5" color TFT
  • Storage: SD card up to 1GB
  • Video: 18 - 20fps @ QVGA, 8 - 10fps @ VGA AVI with sound
  • Sensor: 1/2" CMOS sensor
  • Lens: F/3.0 f=9.5
  • Focus range: 0.5m to infinity
  • Macro mode: 20cm-30cm
  • File format: JPEG
  • Power source: 2 x AAA alkaline batteries
  • 87.5 x 58.5 x 20.3mm
  • Weight: 81g (without battery)
You can't imagine how happy I am. For me the 3181 is the ultimative geek tool and was my best purchase in 2006! It even hasn't a product website (Was too stupid to find one with Google?). Be prepared to see some diletantic photos during the next time here, shot with this wonderful crappy camera...

PS: The bird on the TFT display is part of the camera's Welcome Screen.
